At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Kimberly Hemperly announced that her and her husband Jason would not be adding to their family in a Facebook post which has since gone viral.
With two children already in the mix, the family decided it was time to call it quits and Jason offered to take matters into his own hands to finalise their choice.
“We have an announcement to make!” Hemperly begins.
“We are thrilled to say we will NOT be adding anymore tiny humans to our family!
“My husband is taking one for the team and to celebrate this momentous occasion I felt the need to throw him a little 'Balls Voyage' party for his upcoming procedure.
“Because omg y’all nobody is more excited about this than me.#teamnomorebabies#snipsniphooray #recreationaluseonly”.
Speaking to Babble, Hemperly explained that her husband is “very selfless” and decided to move forward with the procedure knowing that his wife had already been under the knife twice in order to give birth to their two children, who were both born via caesarean sections.
Hemperly took her party-planning responsibilities very seriously, ensuring that every possible vasectomy-themed pun was represented in snack form.
In addition to serving up an array of sausages and meatballs, there were also bananas, Ding Dongs and surgical gloves filled with frozen peas on offer.
There was also a specially-made cake designed to pay homage to Jason’s sperm, complete with a tombstone and the words “Snip Snap” iced on top.
The fun didn’t stop there, Hemperly also kitted her husband and two children out with customised T-shirts referencing Jason’s sperm as “the swim team”.
The couple’s eldest daughter sported a T-shirt that read “Swim team survivor 2013” while their son wore a “Swim team survivor 2017” variation.
Just the family-of-four attended the soirée, however, that didn’t stop people from sharing their enjoyment for Hemperly’s unique idea.
Her post has been shared more than 48,500 times, with users praising the mother-of-two for her originality and dedication to the cause.
