Restaurant review feuds have become the norm with the ease of online comments, but one reviewer has taken umbrage after an unusual incident.
A customer complained about Imagine Vegan Café in Memphis, Tennessee after reportedly seeing the owners’ child run around the premises naked.
Chelsea Bartley left a two-star Google review of the café after seeing the owners' naked child during her meal.
“I was SO uncomfortable,” Ms Bartley wrote.
The dispute attracted more attention after the owners, Adam and Kristie Jeffrey, wrote a series of inflamed responses on their Facebook page that have since been deleted along with the restaurant account.
The owners wrote: “I’m about to start calling out names and pictures of people who leave us bad reviews, especially when it deals with our children. You will no longer be allowed to come and dine at Imagine. Especially when you lie about our babies.
“Haters are not welcome at Imagine,” they warned.
Octave, a Twitter user, posted screen-grabs of some of the owners' responses.
In later posts, the owners said that they “couldn’t even begin to care about losing business” over the issue.
The children were also allegedly seen standing with dirty feet on restaurant tables, according to the customer reviews.
The restaurant’s website says they “give families an affordable place to bring their little ones” and offer an environment “where children can act like children.”
“Please try to understand that we are a family owned and operated community. We are not a cookie cut, corporate business. In fact, we are the antithesis of this model,” the website adds.
Restaurant owners Adam and Kristie Jeffery were unavailable for comment when contacted by The Independent.
