A woman has been left livid after finding out her sister is stealing her choice of baby name for the second time.

Imagine after months of deliberation throughout your pregnancy, you finally settle on the perfect baby name. Delighted, you share your choice with a few close relatives only for your sister to announce months later that she’s going to use that exact name for her own baby.

That’s exactly what happened to a woman who has taken to Mumsnet to share her rage and ask other parents for advice, the Mirror reports.

“I have two sons: Hayden and Oliver,” she explained.

“DSis [dear sister] had a daughter after I had Hayden and named her Hayden I didn't care too much as she was a girl and mine was a boy. It also didn't matter that much.”

While most of us are prepared for the inevitable eventuality that we will encounter someone else with our child’s name, it’s understandably difficult to come to terms with the idea the name you chose is going to be used within your immediately family.

But seeing as their children were different genders, the mum let it slide. That was until the serial name stealer struck again.

“My Oliver is two months and she is the third trimester of her pregnancy and has announced he's an Oliver.

“Different middle names but still! AIBU [am I being unreasonable] to think this is a bit unfair?”

Reacting to the scenario, other parents sympathised and reassured the concerned mother that wasn’t being unreasonable for questioning her sister’s name choices.

“She's either really lacking in imagination or not quite right,” one person wrote.

Another added, “Your sister is a f***ing fruit cake and I think you need to insist she chooses a different name.”

In an interesting turn of events, the woman then added that her sister was claiming she was in fact the one that stole the names – an accusation she wholly denies.

And, while the woman’s father agrees that it’s ‘a bit strange’, her mother says that she thinks it’s ‘nice.’
