In new levels of bridezilla bedlam, a wedding guest has shared the strict set of rules being enforced on their friend’s big day.

Sharing a screenshot of an email on Reddit, the message begins with an introduction from the bride and groom’s wedding coordinator who explains that they’re reaching out to do a final head count and send round some "rules and regulations".

However, the list of demands laid out by the wedding planner are so far fetched that the post has since gone viral, receiving more than 1,000 comments and 10,000 upvotes on the website.

While some of the rules sound reasonable, like asking guests to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early, to not record during the ceremony and to avoid wearing white, cream or ivory, others have taken the term bridezilla to a whole other level.

In addition, the rules demand that female guests should only style their hair in a “basic bob or ponytail” and that they should not have a “full face of makeup.”

Invitees are also told to not check in on Facebook until instructed and to make sure they use the agreed hashtag when posting pictures on social media.

The worst guidelines come towards the end of the email, with the wedding planner insisting that no one should talk to the bride, that all guests will have to toast with Rémy Martin cognac and that everyone must bring a gift worth $75 (£41.50) or more to be allowed to attend.

The outrageous post quickly attracted an array of opinions from other users who gave their thoughts on the matter.

Many ridiculed the email for its spelling mistakes, writing: “That really bugged me. I mean, I get not everybody has to be a spelling champ, but English is not my first language and I knew these words... Also, I'm pretty sure autocorrect exists.”

Others couldn’t quite believe the extreme rules the bride was expecting her guests to adhere to and mocked the post, while others questioned its authenticity.

“Honestly though, what kind of wedding toasts with cognac? I hope somebody livestreams it on FB, bc i'm dying to see this inevitable trainwreck,” one person wrote.

Another added: “What if your hair is too long to be a bob and too short to be a ponytail? Do you have to get it cut shorter into a bob to attend?"

Here is the full list rules and regulations (with the wedding coordinator’s spelling):
