Kia's seven-year warranty – claimed to be the best offered by any manufacturer in Europe – is to be extended to every car in the Korean manufacturer's range.

This long-term coverage was initially offered only on the Golf-sized cee'd, built at Kia's modern plant in Slovakia, and later extended to the Sportage 4x4, but now buyers of all Kias will benefit. Inevitably, there's some small print – for example, paintwork is covered only for five years and the terms are a little more restrictive for cars used as taxis – but Kia's warranty is still much more generous than just about any other manufacturer's. Only Hyundai – a member of the same corporate group as Kia – comes close with its offer of five-year coverage.
