The record is for production cars but Hennessey admit they’ll only make a handful of Venom GT cars

Hennessey Performance claim their modified Venom GT car broke the record for a convertible production car.
The car reached 265.6mph. To achieve that, the company had to up the ante on their previous car by quite a margin. The 7.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 puts out a stonking 1451bhp. That’s up over 200bhp on the previous model.
The figures are equally astonishing: 0-60mph in 2.4sec. 0-100mph in 4.4sec. And on to 265.6mph.
The record is for production cars but Hennessey admit they’ll only make a handful of Venom GT cars since they’re focusing more on their production car, the Venom F5.
The speed run was done with the roof off.
