Halsey has been praised for showing her armpit hair on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

The singer shared a first look of the cover on social media, on which she is described as "pop's queen of chaos".

It shows the 24-year-old posing in a white, thin-strapped top, with her hands placed behind her neck and her armpit hair visible.

Several people commended Halsey and the magazine for ensuring that her armpit hair wasn't edited out of the image.

"I loooove the fact that they didn't edit the armpits like most magazines do," tweeted singer Zara Larsson. "Women are not little babies who don't have body hair. Stunning cover."

"Is it wrong that my fav part of this is that her armpits look normal and aren't Photoshopped?" another user tweeted.

"My armpits aren't something I should be insecure about but like I am. God bless Halsey."

Another person explained that they had always felt "self-conscious" about the appearance of their armpits, which is why Halsey's Rolling Stone cover had such a strong impact on them.

"This photo is so raw, so real. I love her so much. So beautiful. Thank you @halsey," they tweeted.

Celebrities including musicians Demi Lovato and Benny Blanco complimented Halsey on her powerful magazine cover.

"There is so much yes about this picture idk where to start," Lovato commented on Instagram.

"Rockstar status," Blanco added.

Earlier this month, Halsey paid tribute to the couple who suffered a homophobic attack on a London bus, wearing a T-shirt embossed with their photograph while on stage at the Electric Ballroom in Camden.

The T-shirt also featured the message "F**k Your Straight Pride" on the back, in reference to the proposed Straight Pride rally in Boston.

“When the glitter is being swept out of the streets, a lot of people get on those trains and on those buses, and they try to wash the rainbows off their bodies,” Halsey said at the gig.

“Because when Pride is over, it’s not safe to be gay anymore. They are worried that someone is going to viciously assault them or viciously attack them.”
