Once the fantasy of science fiction, jetpacks are now very much a reality, and Swiss fighter pilot turned 'Jetman' Yves Rossy has been posting some incredible videos of himself putting them to good use.
His latest sees him soaring over Dubai, performing a synchronised aerial display with a plane and flying alongside Aerobatics Champion Veres Zoltán.
His jetpack doesn't bear much resemblance to the one envisioned in Bond movie Thunderball, really being more of a jetwing, which is strapped with engines that sit either side of the flyer.
It's been a good year for retro futuristic devices becoming a reality, with a working hoverboard also having been invented.
