Cash-strapped gamers rejoice - rumours are swirling that there will be a long-awaited PS4 price cut in Europe on 21 October.

It looks like the system will get a 50 euro price cut in Europe (likely to be a £50 discount in the UK), according to French and Dutch promotional materials that were leaked by AllGamesBeta on Twitter.

The Ps4 price cut in Japan was announced at the Tokyo Game Show on 15 September, and the US got a price cut on 8 October - so an equivalent discount in Europe was bound to come sooner or later.

Additional details on a leaked advertising poster said the discount would begin from 21 October.

The price cut would see the cost of a typical 1TB PS4 bundle drop from around £350 to £300, and the smaller 500GB console go from £300 to £250.

PS4: The saving grace for Sony?

With an exciting upcoming lineup of games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Fallout 4, and console exclusives like Street Fighter 5, the upcoming price cut will be music to the ears of European PlayStation fans.
