Your support makes all the difference.Samsung's eagerly-anticipated new smartphone – the Galaxy S4 – will have eye-scrolling software and be the biggest Samsung phone yet, according to details leaked ahead of the phone's official launch next week.
The phone's precise specifications remain a closely-guarded secret, but one Samsung employee told the New York Times that the phone would have software that can track a user's eyes as they read a page, scrolling down as the reader reaches the bottom of the screen.
The phone is expected to be officially unveiled in New York on March 14 – following the now time-honoured tradition of set-piece launches for new smartphone technology. Other unconfirmed leaks this week suggest that the phone will have a 5 inch, 1080p display – slightly bigger than its predecessor, the Galaxy S3 – as well as a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front camera.
A Samsung employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the New York Times that new software would allow the phone to track reader's eyes to determine where to scroll.
Leaked details about imminent technology releases are becoming as common as the grandstanding launches themselves and, whether authorised or not, only heighten consumer excitement about a new product.
Samsung is understood to be anticipating sales of up 10 million new Galaxy S4 handsets per month. The phone is expected to become available in Europe in late March or April and in the US in June.
Analysts expect the phone to run the Android 4.2.1 operating system, have up to 64GB of storage, 2GB of RAM and possibly an eight-core ARM processor.
Samsung is the largest Smartphone manufacturer in the world. The Korean company's profits surged by 76 per cent in the last three months of 2012, rising to a record £4.2 billion net income.
