From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Rockstar has unveiled its Halloween update for Grand Theft Auto 5, bringing new horrifying vehicles, masks and modes to celebrate the occasion.
The update is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC — though some users have reported problems downloading it. It will be available until 16 November, though anything that is acquired before then will stay available after.
Rockstar has added two new vehicles to the game: a hearse and a “Franken Stange”. There will also be 20 new Bobbleheads to be added to dashboards.
The game will also feature new masks and face paints, so that characters can be dressed up ready for Halloween. The masks are available in the “Monsters” section of the store, and a Halloween mask will be the default option if users are doing a heist during the Haloween period.
Rockstar has also added a new “Slasher” adversary mode. In that game, one person is designated the “Slasher” and the others have to run away, like in a horror film, hiding out in the dark to try and survive.
Alongside the new additions, Rockstar will be holding special events during the Halloween weekend.
Some users had reported problems downloading the update. Rockstar said that it was aware of the problems and was fixing them.
