Google top search 2017: Conor McGregor, Meghan Markle and slime among most popular terms

Several tech terms feature on the company's lists

Google has revealed the most popular search terms for UK users in 2017.

The company has released its Year in Search for UK for a wide range of categories including top trending, “How to...?”, “What is...”, news events, people, recipes, sporting events, TV shows, films, UK number one singles and Premier League teams.

Several tech terms feature on the lists, including the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, which were two of the top queries for UK users.

Bitcoin, which is currently attracting enormous amounts of interest thanks to its spectacular price rise over recent weeks, features twice on the list of top “How to...?” queries and once on the list of top “What is...?” searches.

The mysterious Antikythera Mechanism also appears, as does the Mayweather vs McGregor boxing match.
