From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Prosaically named Pikmin Short Movie, the film was born out of content Miyamoto wasn't able to use in the games but still wanted to explore.
It will be made using CG and shown in the 3D, with there being no word on a run time yet though it will consist of three episodes called 'Midnight Juice', 'The Treasure Inside the Bottle' and 'One Tough Day'.
The gameplay of Pikmin and its sequels revolved around recovering ship parts by utilising different comnbinations of coloured Pikmin in tandem.
Pikmin Short Movie gets its premiere next month at Tokyo International Film Festival.
In other nostalgic Nintendo news, a new Star Fox game for the Wii U has been firmed up for a 2015 release.
Miyamoto has taken the game under his wing, which has yet to be given a title and will be the first since Star Fox Assault on the GameCube.
