The Fifa 17 demo is about to be released, letting lucky players get their first chance to play the game – but just for a few days.

The early look at the game will reportedly arrive for download on Tuesday, and probably be available for just a few days. After that, fans will have no way of getting a go at the game until 29 September, when the full game comes out.

Some reports had initially suggested that the demo was due to be released today. But it hasn't yet hit the online stores.

The demo allows people to play through a single match of the kind that they’ll get when the full game comes out. Players can choose from matches between 12 different teams from around the world, including Chelsea and Manchester City from the UK, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Aside from those, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, PSG, Lyon, Inter Milan, Juventus, Gamba Osaka, Tigres and Seattle Sounders are all included in the demo according to reports.

EA claims that Fifa 17 has a range of changes that make it unlike any previous version of the game, and so this is the first time to try it out.

Those include a new artificial intelligence system for computer players and new ways of taking set pieces. But perhaps the biggest new part of the game isn’t available yet – “The Journey”, a special game mode that lets people play through their career and take important decisions on and off the pitch.

The demo can be downloaded for either Xbox One or Playstation 4, through their respective stores. It can can be found by heading to the relevant app and simply searching for “Fifa 17” – it should then appear and offer a way of downloading the game or pre-ordering the full one.
