It seems Lionel Messi really is the saviour after holding off the hellish threat of Resident Evil 6 at the top of the all formats games chart. In the face of a backlash of negative coverage of RE6 from press and public alike it’s likely Capcom will be happy enough with second place, though given the advertising campaigns and money spent on development surely they’d have been banking on their game securing the number one slot.

Elsewhere Just Dance 4 Gangnam’s its way into the chart, while Ubisoft must also be delighted with the continued success of the brilliant Rocksmith as word spreads of the electric guitar teaching title.

Predictions for next week: Bethesda’s Dishonored to knock FIFA 13 off top spot (for a week at least).
