Gabrielle Union's daughter hilariously fails at Fruit Snack Challenge

Gabrielle Union‘s daughter Kaavia was not prepared to demonstrate her willpower when taking part in the Fruit Snack Challenge.

Throughout the lockdown, various challenges have been sweeping the social media stratosphere, from the nostalgic Me at 20 challenge to the philanthropic 2.6 challenge.

The latest challenge to take hold tests the patience of toddlers, as they are presented with a bowl of fruit snacks, or another kind of snack, and then told not to eat it until their parent comes back, all of which is captured on film.

In some videos, children have astonished viewers by showing how they are able to resist eating a tasty snack that is right in front of them when not being supervised by an adult.

However, that was certainly not the case for 16-month-old Kaavia, daughter of Union and former professional basketball player Dwyane Wade.

In a video shared on Union’s Instagram account, the actor walks into the living room of her home while holding the toddler, asking if she “wants some Bitsy’s“.

“You want some Bitsy’s? You ready for a snack?” Union says while holding a bowl of the children’s snacks in her spare hand, while her daughter replies: “Yeah.”

“Ok. You can have some Bitsy’s. But you’ve got to wait. You’ve got to wait until I get back,” the actor states, placing the bowl on a table and her daughter on an chair.

As soon as the actor leaves the room, saying: “I’ll be right back”, Kaavia immediately shimmies off the chair and eats some of the snacks from the bowl.

“Kaav are you waiting?” Union can be heard saying as her daughter unabashedly places the food in her mouth.

When Union returns, she asks her daughter if she ate the snacks. Kaavia responds by simply pointing at the bowl.

At the end of the video, the Bring It On star tells the daughter that she can eat the remainder of the snacks.

Instead the toddler decides to run off, seemingly fed up with the entire experiment.

“The way she runs off at the end lol,” one person commented on Instagram.

“She was looking like ‘yeah I ate the Bitsy’s’ and pointed at you like ‘didn’t you leave the Bitsy’s out do be eaten?’ Then ran off like ‘I don’t have time for these games’,” another said.

Someone else remarked that Kaavia “wasted ZERO time” going in for the snacks.

“Kaavia was like don’t test me mama,” an Instagram user stated, alongside several laughing emojis.

On Mother’s Day in the US on Sunday 10 May, Union shared a photograph of herself with Kaavia on Instagram, alongside a caption offering “love and appreciation to everyone that mothers others”.

“No matter the route, the journey, the title, we thank you and recognise you today and everyday,” she wrote.

“To everyone who is feeling pain on this day, I feel you, I see you and you are not alone. You are never alone. Love and light good people.”
