It’s no secret that Donald Trump is a fan of fast food.
He’s previously prompted raised eyebrows by eating KFC with a knife and fork and is known to be a big meat-eater.
And now a new book has revealed what exactly the US President orders from McDonald’s.
According to two of Trump’s former top aides, he would wolf down “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted.”
All as one meal.
The revelation was made by Corey Lewandowski, who was fired as Trump’s campaign manager, and fellow top aide David Bossie, who are co-authors of “Let Trump Be Trump.”
The book follows Trump on the campaign trail and charts his journey to the White House, reports the Washington Post.
It also claims that Trump regularly ate fast food as he travelled round the US.
“On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke,” the authors write.
At least by opting for Diet Coke Trump may have shaved a few calories off his feast.
If POTUS had chosen a medium shake and skipped fries (maybe he’s watching his carb intake and trying to up his protein), the McDonald’s feast would come to around 1,900 calories. However the President has previously posted a picture of him eating McDonald's fries.
His salt intake would be dangerously high too, at 3,400 milligrams of sodium in one day - the American Heart Association recommends no more than 1,500.
The book paints a picture of a president who isn’t particularly health-conscious, revealing that the plane’s cupboards would be kept well stocked with Vienna Fingers (a type of American biscuit), crisps, pretzels and Oreos.
Trump refused to eat from an open packet though, as he was afraid of the germs.
According to the book, “the orchestrating and timing of Mr. Trump’s meals was as important as any other aspect of his march to the presidency” - his aides went to great lengths to ensure hot food arrived at the plane just as the then presidential candidate was leaving his rallies.
And now we know - the President is not a McNugget kind of man.
