Packing a capsule holiday wardrobe is hard enough but managing to edit down your beauty arsenal is quite another thing.

While we make a conscious effort to take less with us, skincare, makeup and haircare can add quite the hefty burden to your suitcase, especially when you’re short on space to begin with.

Luckily, a number of beauty brands are now offering travel-sized versions of your favourite products so you can avoid airport stress and unnecessary excess baggage charges by packing miniature pocket rockets instead.

First things first, your skincare regime can sometimes get overlooked while you’re on holiday so it’s important take a core collection of products with you.

Some of our favourites include Clinique’s Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover Stick - which has all the benefits of the brand’s cleansing balm in a handbag friendly stick - Foreo’s Luna Mini – a petite sonic cleansing brush perfect for dislodging traces for grease and grime – and Chanel’s La Crème Main hand cream – which can also be used as a body moisturiser.

Alternatively, you can invest in a handy kit like Elemis’ Lily & Lionel Luxury Travel Collection which contains everything from its legendary Marine Cream to a facial wash, body oil, toner, shower cream and makeup remover all housed in a super-chic travel bag.

The sweltering sun and salty sea can also wreak havoc on your hair so you’ll do well to avoid hotel shampoos and conditioners by packing your own. For beachy, carefree holiday waves we’re fans of Sachajuan’s Ocean Mist Travel Set while Oribe’s Masque for Beautiful Colour will provide your locks with intense hydration.

When it comes to cosmetics, it can be tempting to over pack out of fear of “What if?” and beauty buffs will be glad to know that travel-sized miniatures give you a little more leeway.

One of the best brands for on-the-go beauty is Benefit Cosmetics which covers all bases from its Hello Happy Foundation to the Bad Gal Bang Mini mascara, Gimme Brow Volumising Eyebrow Gel and Hoola Powder Mini.

However, investing in pint-sized products also allows you to try out new brands without any of the commitment, or hefty price tags so don’t be afraid to branch out.

From By Terry’s Mini Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadow Pen, to Eyeko’s Sport Waterproof Mascara, Charlotte Tilbury’s Mini Lipstick Charms and Trinny London’s Stackable Makeup pots, the beauty world is yours to explore.
