James Bay, the man that has become defined not only by his inimitable vocal abilities, but also his stylistic rockstar credentials – think chiselled cheekbones, long hair, slim-fit jeans and a felt fedora – is set to launch his debut collaboration with Topman this month.

With a carefully curated collection of 13 pieces, the British singer-songwriter (who is a permanent fixture at the Topman Design shows) has everything you need to feel like a proper rockstar.

“It’s been a lot of fun teaming with Topman to design my own collection,” Bay said.

“I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from performing live and the way I dress on tour. Many of the details I’ve focused on are also based on my own original drawings and sketches.”

From embroidered denim jackets, patterned satin bombers, psychedelic graphic tees and a two-piece jacquard suit, the range is comprised of essential styles that includes evening and performance attire, which reflect Bay’s personal life.

Drawing inspiration from his love of art and music, several pieces also feature hand-drawn illustrations taken from the two-time Brit award winner’s sketchbooks, and can be found on everything from sweats to outerwear.

Our favourite is the black denim jacket, which features an embroidered drawing of two hands interlocking and is inspired by Bay’s platinum selling album Chaos and the Calm.

“It’s always exciting for Topman to collaborate with personalities outside the world of fashion as it challenges all our normal perceptions,” said Gordron Richardson, Topman’s creative director.

“James has been no exception; he has diligently translated his unique sense of style into the perfect 13-piece capsule collection with as much care and attention he would for one of his albums.

“Every piece has a considered place and reflects his unique personality.”

The collection will be available to shop across selected stores in the UK and globally from 16th August. Prices range from £25 up to £200.
