From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

When Madonna was photographed by Steven Meisel for 1992's Sex, the book sold more than half a million copies and became an instant classic despite its provocative nature. Chances are that a new tome by Gaga - who is often compared to Madonna - and Richardson will at least parallel that success.

Hitting stores on November 22, Lady Gaga (Grand Central Books) will feature more than 350 never-seen-before photos of the megastar - a selection from around 100,000 images taken by the controversial photographer who followed Gaga's every step for ten months.

A release by the publisher says that Richardson accompanied the singer everywhere from the Lollapalooza Festival last August to her infamous arrival in an egg at this year's Grammy Awards and the final shows of her "Monster Ball" tour.

"It will be one of the most stunning, provocative and coveted books of the 2011 holiday season," Grand Central writes, ..."nothing was off limits."

The book can be pre-ordered for $35.46 on amazon.com.
