Last night saw Hollywood come out in droves for the 2019 Teen Choice Awards which took place at Hermosa Beach in California.

The event, which was co-hosted by actor Lucy Hale and YouTube star David Dobrik, saw stars come together to celebrate the television shows, films, music and social media stars that speak to teenagers all over the globe.

Unlike most award shows, Teen Choice gives young people a voice by allowing them to choose who is nominated and who takes home a life-size surfboard trophy on the night.

The playful tone of the star-studded event also inspires its guests to ditch tradition and get creative with their looks each year and 2019 was no different with celebrities donning everything from sequin dresses to colourful two-piece suits.

Among the best-dressed guests were actor Zendaya who sported a yellow checked shirt with green shorts, singer Laura Marano in a show-stopping ruffled pink gown, and actor Megalyn Echikunwoke who chose a neon green two-piece for the occasion.

The event is considered to be summer’s biggest night for young Hollywood stars, and featured a number performances from musical acts including OneRepublic and Jordan McGraw with Sarah Hyland, and of course plenty of award winners.

Among those who scooped an award were Billie Eilish for Choice Breakout Artist, Ariana Grande for Choice Pop Song, Cole Sprouse for Choice Drama TV Actor and Zendaya for Choice Summer Movie Actress.

Taylor Swift also accepted the first-ever Icons Award, while the Jonas Brothers received the Decade Award.
