From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s been a week of unrestrained nudity in fashion magazines with Kim Kardashian going naked for Paper magazine, and now Lara Stone baring all for System magazine.

The Dutch model’s images are, however, strikingly different. Unlike Kardashian West’s oily silhouette, Stone appears natural and completely unretouched by the airbrush, revealing her true-to-life post-baby body a year after giving birth.

Stone has a one-year-old son with her husband, British comedian David Walliams, and she revealed recently her struggles in dealing with her changing body image during and after pregnancy, but also how she’s come to accept her new self.

This shoot for the fourth issue of System magazine, a publication that celebrates "the fashion industry and its impact on the world," demonstrates how she’s embracing her post-baby body image.

Stone, 30, stripped off for the lens of celebrated German fashion photographer Juergen Teller. The results are refreshingly honest. Her face sports very little make up except for striking red lips, and her blonde hair is styled in natural waves.

Shot back in September, Stone is pictured topless in most of images and in a couple of them she sports a set of plain black Calvin Klein underwear. But the mood of this shoot is very different from the glossy Calvin Klein campaign she starred in back in July which marked her initial return to modelling.

Stone’s issue is one of four covers shot by Teller for the magazine, as the photographer explores the notion of beauty in these models (Liya Kebebe, Stella Tennant, Saskia de Brauwn and Stone) for a 100-page portfolio.
