From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. We now know what Kanye West’s collaboration with Fondation Louis Vuitton was all about. And it wasn’t a fashion collection as such, but a surprise performance during Paris Fashion Week.
The rapper is finding his feet in the fashion industry, with the launch of the Yeezy trainers last month, the debut of his Adidas capsule collection during New York Fashion Week, and of course, his front-row presence alongside wife Kim Kardashian West.
And if that wasn’t enough exposure for the season, the multifaceted rapper has spoilt the fashion crowd in town for the shows, with four nights of intimate concerts at the Fondation auditorium on the outskirts of Paris in the Bois the Bologne.
A crowd of fans queued outside the museum, including Miroslava Duma and Anna Dello Russo, not only to witness the energetic performance, but to watch the debut of his new video for his song “All Day,” directed by 12 Years of Slave’s director Steve McQueen.
It turns out that Snoop Dogg wasn’t the only rapper surprising fans at Paris Fashion Week.
