Kanye West beat the likes of Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino to be the most viewed collection of fashion month.

West may have critics in the fashion world but he must be doing something right, as style.com have declared him the winner of fashion month.

Following a month of fashion shows that spanned the globe from New York and London to Milan and Paris, it was the rapper's debut collection for Adidas Originals that emerged victorious in the battle of online audiences.

And it was by no means a close affair, West's collection stormed to the top of the rankings with 4,578,461 page views - over a million more page views then the nearest competitor - Chanel.

Chanel, last year's number 1 came 2nd with almost 3.5 million page views. Valentino made headlines when Zoolander stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson took to the catwalk - they tallied up with almost 3 million views, but it was only enough to gain them 4th place.

"I knew there would be a lot of interest around the collection, but I wouldn’t have necessarily predicted that it would beat out Chanel" commented Dirk Standen, Style.com's editor in chief in an interview with fashionista.com.

"We’ve covered celebrity lines before, and we covered Kanye’s first two collections he did in Paris a couple of years ago, but they didn’t have that kind of impact ... obviously he’s at a whole new level of fame now, but part of it is, I think, there’s a purpose behind his collection that people can’t ignore."
