Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. In case you haven't noticed, it's fashion month. It's not just the press, buyers and bloggers who are after a bit of the action; no front row would be complete without a celebrity or two.
It wasn't always the case, once upon a time the only people invited to shows were those it had relevance to; either because they might buy it to wear, write about it or stock it in their shop.
Despite controversy in recent years with designers such as Marc Jacobs and Nicole Farhi famously complaining that it's the celebrities that make the headlines and not the clothes being presented, still nothing gets the flashbulbs going like a famous face taking a seat in the front row.
With New York Fashion week in full swing the rich and famous of the big Apple have turned out in their swathes to take in the shows.
Rihanna is by far the most frequently appearing celebrity with Dakota Fanning not far behind.
With the fashion folk now in London, taking in day 4 of the shows. A new crop of famous faces have been popping up at the shows; regulars include Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe.
Rita Ora must be having a quiet week, she's so far attended Marchesa, Hunter and House of Holland.
