From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

All eyes were on the film's leading lady at last night's world premiere of the latest installment in The Hunger Games trilogy.

Jennifer Lawrence did not fail to disappoint on the red carpet in London's Leicester Square last night, arriving at the event in a quilted embroidered dress by Christian Dior.

Alongside Lawrence, the premiere saw many of the film's key cast members make an appearance. Including the movie's male leads Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.

Elizabeth Banks who plays Effie Trinket in the film very nearly stole the spotlight from her cast-mates in an spectacular floral caped design by Elie Saab couture.

In addition to the A-list cast there were red carpet appearances from shall we say less impressive stars (ahem); almost every facet of reality TV was represented from the XFactor contestants to the Hollyoaks cast and members of the Made In Chelsea and TOWIE contingents.

The London premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is the first leg of the promotional tour that will see the cast move onto LA later this week.
