Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Owning a Sherman just got a whole lot cheaper: the conceptual photographer and filmmaker will release an artistic collection with the make-up brand come September.

Sherman's Untitled #96 might be the most expensive photo print ever purchased (it sold for $3.89 million at a Christie's auction), but her products for the cult beauty brand can be yours from $14.50 for a lipstick to $38 for an eyeshadow palette.

MAC has released three visuals to tease the range, depicting the artist in exaggerated looks (one is very literally clownish) meant to demonstrate the "power of transformation": she embodies an "off-kilter Hitchcock heroine," a "fresh corpse," a "Caravaggio Portrait," and a "Park Avenue Plastic Surgery Maven."

While these personae - who again question women's role in society and the media, the leitmotif of Sherman's work - inspired three different collections, each coming with lipsticks, eyeliners, and eyeshadows, it is up to you whether to combine them for a more avant-garde or classic look.

The limited-edition collection becomes available on September 29.
