Ikea’s products are more renowned for their practicality as opposed to their style, but that could all be about to change.
The Swedish retailer has teamed up with Off White designer Virgil Abloh for a high-fashion interiors collection that goes on sale from 1 November.
The collection, titled MARKERAD, comprises 15 contemporary interior items that have been invigorated with the Louis Vuitton men's creative director’s signature streetwear aesthetic.
There’s a simple but stylish day bed (£175), a slick glass cabinet perfect for storing your most aesthetically pleasing books (£150), and an optic white wall clock with “Temporary” written on it (£25) .
Notable highlights from the collection are the eccentric rugs, which include a green high pile one that has the words “Wet Grass” written across it (£119) and a giant “receipt rug” (£75) that looks like a receipt from Ikea.

Speaking about the collection, Abloh said: “It’s about elevating the anonymous, everyday icons that we use without noticing. When we put a doorstop on one of the legs of an ordinary chair we create something unexpected – an interruption.”
Unlike other Ikea collections, getting your hands on pieces from this one is not quite as easy as strolling into your local branch and tapping your smartphone.
Abloh fans must register online for collection tickets, of which there are 4,900 in the UK and 1,550 in Ireland.
The tickets will be released on Friday 18 October and those who obtain them will get access to participating IKEA stores from 1 November. These include IKEAs in Wembley, Croydon and Dublin.
