Harry Styles fronts Gucci campaign with baby pigs and goats

The images have been described as ‘farmyard chic’

Harry Styles has become a darling of the fashion industry.

The former X Factor pop star has come a long way since his One Direction days, releasing a successful solo album and even dipping his toes into the acting world.

Now, thanks to his idiosyncratic sartorial identity, the 24-year-old has landed his second campaign for Gucci - and his fans are going wild for it.

Modelling alongside a selection of baby farm animals - piglets, lambs, kids - the singer strikes a series of playful poses in the Renaissance gardens of the historic Villa Lante estate, which is just north of Rome.

Photographed by esteemed British fashion photographer Glen Luchford, Styles models the Italian fashion house’s Cruise 2019 tailoring collection, which in typical Gucci style, is awash with ornate jacquard, checked prints and opulent embellishments.

“The campaign playfully positions Harry Styles’s personal, urban take on the Gucci tailoring wardrobe amongst the classic, stylised landscape of the gardens, where fountains, grottoes and mazes characterise the ancient surroundings," reads a statement released by the brand.

The charming images have been widely shared online, with fans ogling over the singer’s handling of the animals and his model looks.

“Nothing in my life prepared me for @Harry_Styles and barnyard animals,” wrote one person on Twitter, “NOTHING IN MY WHOLE LIFE.”

“I was studying but then new Gucci pics of Harry came out and I have no plans of studying bc i need to admire the artwork [sic],” added another.

The singer-turned-actor-turned-model, who grew up in Cheshire, has become synonymous with Gucci’s avant-garde aesthetic since Alessandro Michele took over as creative director in 2015, prompting a significant overhaul for the 97-year-old label.

Suddenly, a brand that was once rooted in conventions predicated by logomania became a go-to for geek chic and seventies-inspired garb, heavy in flares, intricate lace and wallpaper florals.

Styles fronted his debut campaign for the label in June 2018, when he posed in a North London chip shop, accompanied by a dog and a chicken.
