From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Black Eyed Peas' frontwoman is responsible for Avon's most successful fragrance launch ever and will get recognized for it at the upcoming FiFi Awards in New York.

Honoring "a celebrity whose very first fragrance has enjoyed instant success with the consumer and brought recognition to the fragrance category," the US Fragrance Foundation has decided to give this year's New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award to Fergie, who launched Outspoken with US beauty giant Avon last year.

"It feels unbelievable for me to have the biggest launch in Avon's history," Fergie said in a statement. "I am extremely passionate about my projects and put a lot of energy into the development and execution - Outspoken was no exception. I'm so excited to be receiving the FiFi 'New Fragrance Celebrity of the Year' Award, and it feels amazing to be honored by the industry."

Outspoken ($28) is a tuberose fragrance, which also features notes of frozen blackberry, starfruit, saffron, jasmine, passion flower, ebony, black leather and vetiver.

The annual FiFi Awards, considered the Oscars of the fragrance industry, take place in New York on May 25 and will also award actress Halle Berry, who has already launched three fragrances (Halle by Halle Berry, Pure Orchid, and Reveal), as its Celebrity Fragrance of the Year.
