Love Island 2019: Greg's mother gives Amber a shamrock necklace on Love Island

Love Island viewers were full of emotion after watching contestant Greg O'Shea's mother give his partner on the show, Amber Gill, a shamrock necklace for "luck".

During Sunday evening's episode, all of the islanders were treated to a visit from their loved ones in the villa.

Both Amber, who lives in Newcastle, and Greg, from Limerick, Ireland, were joined by their parents, all of whom sat together for a chat on the swing.

As the group of six took their seats, Greg's mother revealed that she had brought a shamrock necklace as a gift for her son's Love Island other half, much to her surprise.

Fans of the couple described the gifting of the necklace as the "cutest thing" and one of the "purest" moments to take place during this year's series.

"Greg’s mum giving Amber that necklace is the cutest thing that has happened this whole series," one person tweeted.

"Greg’s mum giving Amber a shamrock necklace from Ireland as a thank you for looking after her son, this is so precious," another fan wrote.

Someone else commented: "Greg’s mum giving Amber that necklace was one of the purest moments I’ve ever seen on Love Island," concluding their tweet with a crying eye emoji.

This year's series of Love Island has seen the contestants go through extreme highs, and extreme lows.

The trials and tribulations of the islanders has provided fans of the ITV2 show with several relationship lessons, such as the importance of making your mental health a priority and the duty one has to call out their friends when they're acting in an untoward manner.
