Snail mail has taken on a whole new meaning for me
A rout of snails have taken up residence in my mailbox – and make short work of bills, writes Janet Street-Porter
I’m a victim of mail tampering.
Restoring my new (old) thatched home in Norfolk, I used local workmen whenever possible, and tried to pay bills promptly. To make life easier for postmen, a plastic mailbox was installed by my neighbour’s gate down the track.
Unfortunately, every snail in the area found a route to this cosy, waterproof luxury home and the inside has become their new abode.
