How clever is your dog? Take the quiz
You may love your canine, but are they as smart is you think?
Scientists at the London School of Economics have developed an IQ test for dogs that could allow them to conduct deeper research on diseases such as dementia.
The dog IQ tests found those who are good at one task are more likely to be good at others.
In other words, some dogs are just very bright, while others are less so even if they have a skill.
In terms of humans, reasearch shows clever people live longer, and scientists plan to use their newfound research into the IQ of dogs to conduct research into the link between intelligence and health.
Linking this to humans is problematic, because we're prone to making odd dietry choices, drinking, smoking and doing other things that have a significant effect on our life span.
Dogs, however, are much more likely to stay off the booze and the burgers, which makes them the perfect test subjects.
Wondering how well your dog would have done in an IQ test? Find out if yours is one of the clever ones by taking our quiz below.
