Sophie Peachey is a Video Journalist for The Independent. She joined the publication in 2022, after working as a self-shooting video journalist at the Press Association, filming prominent figures and breaking stories across the capital. Sophie covers video-first news content, and has created original pieces for IndyTV, covering the Rwanda asylum plan, Russian intervention in Syria, and the climate crisis. She has also presented and voiced stories on the overturning of Roe v Wade and US gun laws.
