Strictly Come Dancing contestants 'in the dark' just weeks ahead of show's launch date
Bill Bailey said training ‘hasn’t started properly at all’
Strictly Come Dancing 2020 contestant Bill Bailey has admitted he does not know what he is in for on the show.
The comedian, 55, is taking part in this year's series along with former home secretary Jacqui Smith, actor Caroline Quentin, reality star Jamie Laing and boxer Nicola Adams (who will form part of the show’s first same-sex couple).
Bailey told Good Morning Britain: “I don't really know much about what's going on. We haven't really started properly at all. At this stage, I'm a little bit in the dark about it.”
He added: “Obviously I've seen the show. As far as the training and who I'm going to be dancing with... I'm still in the dark.”
Strictly is reportedly set to premiere on 24 October and run until 19 December, meaning the series will be just nine weeks long, compared to the usual 12 weeks.
The judging panel will also be reduced, with Bruno Tonioli unable to take up his regular spot due to travel restrictions.
