Spencer Matthews has left Made in Chelsea, just weeks after he left I’m A Celebrity on account of taking “steroid based medication”.
The Daily Star has claimed bosses at E4 were concerned his steroid taking would have a negative impact on the series.
“It's a massive loss to the E4 show because Spencer is undoubtedly its biggest and best-known character,” a source told the paper. “Viewers just love to hate him.”
A spokesperson for the channel told The Independent that he is “currently pursuing other opportunities” rather than having been forced out of the show.
It has also been speculated that Matthews entered rehab after his stint on I’m A Celebrity and being forced to quit the show.
At that time, the reality TV personality said on Twitter he “would do absolutely anything to still be in there” and was “loving it”. In a separate statement, he said: “Taking these pills was a serious error of judgement, which I hugely regret.”
Whether he was fired from Made in Chelsea or willfully left is currently unclear. We have contacted his agent for comment.
