GMB viewers mock ‘coward’ Piers Morgan for angrily storming off show amid criticism over Meghan Markle remarks

Good Morning Britain viewers are reacting to Piers Morgan angrily storming off the show on Tuesday morning (9 March).

Morgan left co-host Susanna Reid to continue the live broadcast alone following a war of words with presenter Alex Beresford, who described his treatment of Meghan Markle as “diabolical”.

As Beresford derided Morgan for his behaviour in the run-up to and following Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, the broadcaster said: “OK, I’m done with this.”

In response to the moment on Twitter, he admitted he “was annoyed” and that he “went for a little cool-down”.

But viewers, who are calling on ITV to sack him for his “hateful” remarks about Markle, have branded him a ‘coward” and a “spoiled brat”.

One viewer condemned Morgan as a “snowflake”, adding: “Always ready to dish it to others but can’t take it themselves.”

Another person wrote: “Two consecutive mornings he has been called out and he storms off like a [spoiled] brat.”

Someone else asked: “What does Piers Morgan eat for breakfast that he’s on full rage setting from 6 in the morning.”

Elsewhere, Morgan was branded “a thin-skinned narcissist” while Beresford was praised for defending Markle.

One angry viewer called it “another convenient way to take no accountability for everything he said” about Markle.

Morgan is facing a backlash for saying he doesn’t believe that Markle contemplated suicide due to her treatment by the media after joining the royal family.

Following Markle’s revelation during the interview with Winfrey, Morgan said: “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said.”

ITV has been criticised for allowing Morgan to run riot with his “hateful” comments about Markle while also running its Britain Get Talking campaign.

Launched last year, the campaign encourages people to reach out and open up about their mental health.
