From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The BBC has released a trailer for episode 2 of Peaky Blinders season 3, seeing Tom Hardy’s Alfie Solomons back to torment Tommy and the arrival of Paddy Considine’s corrupt priest.
The 20-second teaser sees Tommy back amongst the coal fires of Birmingham following his wedding, attending to a considerable amount of business.
“What business do you have with the Russians, Tommy?” his always cautious sister Ada asks him in the wake of the last episode’s Russian dealings.
We also learn that Tommy is planning “a robbery, the biggest robbery of all," while apparently having to do the bidding of a priest (Paddy Considine’s first appearance) who tells him “any deviations will have consequences”.
“You’re a silly boy”, Hardy’s always patronising Alfie tells Tommy, the latter of which ominously ends the trailer saying: “Our enemies know everything. This is the end.”
Peaky Blinders season 3 episode 2 will be broadcast on BBC Two at 9pm on Thursday 12 May.
