The National Television Awards (NTAs) return this week, celebrating the best of British television.

Leading the nominations are Bodyguard and Doctor Who in the drama categories, while Love Island, Great British Bake Off and I'm A Celebrity featuring elsewhere.

When are the National Television Awards on TV?

The ceremony starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday 22 January and is broadcast on ITV. The event lasts two hours.

Who is hosting the NTAs?

Dermot O’Leary returns as host for the ninth time, while Love Island duo Jack and Dani will front the backstage and red carpet coverage.

Who is nominated for NTAs?

Bodyguard is expected to take the top drama prizes, with the series up for Best New Drama and leading actor Richard Madden looking to win Best Drama Performance.

Fellow BBC series Killing Eve also has nominations in both, with Jodie Comer having been put forward for Best Drama Performance. Rounding out the category are Jodie Whittaker for Doctor Who, Cillian Murphy for Peaky Blinders and Michelle Keegan for Our Girl.

A Discovery of Witches, The Cry and Girlfriends are also nominated for Best New Drama, while Our Girl, Doctor Who, Call the Midwife, Peaky Blinders and Casualty make up the Best Drama categories.
