Megyn Kelly asks why blackface is wrong when part of Halloween costume

Megyn Kelly has revealed she's expecting to return to television in 2019.

The former Fox News and NBC anchor, who was sacked from her position on the Today show in October 2018, shared the news during a recent outing in New York City.

Asked whether she would appear on television this year, Kelly told TMZ: "You'll definitely see me back on."

The anchor, who stopped to talk with the website during a walk with her husband, novelist Douglas Brunt, didn't elaborate on her plans, redirecting the conversation instead on her desire to get a new dog.

Kelly was fired from her job on the Today show after claiming wearing blackface could be acceptable as part of a Halloween costume.

A person familiar with the situation told Variety in December that Kelly is free to pursue jobs at other outlets per the terms of her agreement with NBCUniversal.

It is unclear on which network Kelly plans to return. NBC is off the table; MSNBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, presumably is too.

People familiar with the matter told Variety that CNN, CBS News and ABC News had all indicated they had no immediate interest or were not immediately able to find a position that would suit Kelly.
