Love Island: Samira outlines reasons for leaving villa

Another day, another episode of Love Island to devour.

Tonight’s episode (12 July) started with Samira deciding to leave the villa, wanting to chase after former contestant Frankie instead of that £50,000 prize.

“I’ve not had any connection in here with anyone and I had a little taste of that with Frankie and it’s gone abruptly and I think I’d always be thinking ‘What if,’” the former West End actor told the girls through tears. “I woke up this morning and I thought, it’s my time to go… I have to do this for me, I’ve never felt so strong.”

So, what happened after Samira left? Well, everyone got over it pretty quickly as the boys were tasked with dressing as firemen. When you have boys as dull as ditch-water, you might as well parade them around like lumps of wet, soggy, muscular meat.

This all led to Idris, Kieren, and Doctor Alex trying to impress the latest addition to the villa, Alexandra, who now must decide which one of the three boys she wants to couple with. Whoever does not get chosen goes home. And things are not looking good for Kieren.

Who will go home? Who knows. The producers decided to leave us on a particularly annoying cliffhanger, just before Girl Alex made her choice. But, chances are, by the end of the week, England, Samira, Kieren and Doctor Alex will all be getting tucked into bed by their mums.

Catch up on the episode as it happened below. Please allow a few moments to load.

Love Island continues weekdays and Sundays at 9pm on ITV2.

"Everyone's so protective of you," girl Alex says to Doctor Alex. Yes, the Islanders and the nation want him to succeed, but are you the right girl? Ummm....

Forgot about "loyal" Georgia... who's actually being quite loyal to Sam? She's "always open" but really wants Kieren to stop. Wow. Was not actually expecting that. Loyalty!

I don't mind this Sam lad. Hardly had any screen time. Seems a bit... normal? Which explains the minimal screen time.

Kieren's not getting these hints. Also, looks surprisingly different without those sunglasses on. But, he's moved only lady Alex, a make-up artist. And well travelled. These really are the boring bits of this show, when they have these basic naff chats.

New Jack sums it up: "The first day where there's been no drama." Come on, someone, do something!

Jinxed it. It's happening. The moment that's been making headlines all day: Samira prepping to leave. She's in tears talking to Dani. "Why can't my best mate be happy," says Dani. She's a star, ain't she? Giving some sound advice.

Right, we've had the nightly "going to bed" montage and it's advert break. What have we learnt? Anything?? Not really. Everyone, except Samira, is doing well. Really well in some cases. Where's the drama!
