Game of Thrones season 7 episode 7: The Littlefinger callback to Ned Stark betrayal you may have missed
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
*This post contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7 episode 7 - 'The Dragon and the Wolf'*
There was poetic justice to Littlefinger's death tonight, as his machinations finally came back to bite him.
In trying to divide them, Lord Baelish ended up uniting Arya and Sansa, who realised what he was plotting and that they must work together in spite of their differences.
As the net closed in on Littlefinger, the Stark and Vale soldiers at the sides of the hall turned on him, mirroring a key scene back in season one.
If you can't remember, it was when Ned stood before Joffrey backed by the City Watch, only to have them betray him and point their swords at the Starks. This betrayal was, of course, Littlefinger's doing.
It wasn't soldiers commanded to kill on this occasion though, the honour of ending Petyr Baelish going to Arya, a knife being put to his throat, just as Littlefinger once put a knife to Ned's.
