With a TV reality star actually in the White House, the presidential title doesn't seem to quite have the same meaning anymore.

So what exactly is the difference between Melania Trump as America's First Lady and Kim Kardashian West? That's the subtly provocative question posed by Interview Magazine's new cover, which sees the media personality pose with her daughter North West in a manner channelling Jackie Kennedy Onassis.

For Interview's September issue, Steve Klein shot Kardashian styled in Jackie O's distinctive '60s coif and perfectly tailored dresses, to accompany an interview conducted by Janet Mock, with the piece describing her as the embodiment of the American Dream.

The pair discuss in depth Kardashian's ever evolving relationship with social media, within the context of Keeping up with the Kardashians, the birth of North West, and the aftermath of the robbery.

The conversation also encompassed how the show deals with discussions of race and trans identity in relation to North West's own upbringing, with Kardashian commenting, "We want to raise our kids to be really aware. I think that’s all you can do. The more you talk about things and keep them out in the open, the more they won’t be taboo."

"Kids are already so open. They say anything. So if you educate them, they feel like they have this knowledge and then they feel empowered."

She also hit back at critics who consistently claim her fame is entirely undeserved, revealing her frustrations that, "If I’m so not talented, if I do nothing, then how is my career my reality?"

"You can say a lot of things about me, but you cannot say I don’t work hard. I don’t sing. I don’t dance. I don’t act. But I am not lazy," she added.
