Actress Heather Locklear has been arrested for battery after allegedly attacking a police officer and an emergency medical technician.

The arrest comes just a few days after Locklear, 56, was released from a three-day psychiatric hold.

According to Page Six, Locklear was taken into custody from her Southern California home shortly before midnight on Sunday night and booked with two counts of misdemeanour battery against a police officer and an EMT.

This is the second time she has been arrested for battery of deputies.

Police reportedly arrived to Locklear's home to "answer a disturbance call" from a family member, but the actress was allegedly intoxicated and "punched" a police officer who tried to remove her from her family, reports TMZ.

When Locklear was put on a gurney by paramedics, she allegedly kicked an emergency medical technician; Locklear was sent to the hospital to be evaluated and then taken to jail, claims Page Six.

The Dynasty actress is currently being held on $20,000 bail.

Last week, Locklear was placed under a psychiatric hold after she allegedly threatened to take her own life because she believed her fiancé was cheating on her.

Back in April, she pled not guilty to battery charges against deputies who answered a domestic violence call at her home in February.

The Independent has contacted Locklear's legal team for comment.
