From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. However, that doesn’t mean they’ve finished filming the upcoming season, as wrap parties are often held before the end.
So, why am I telling you this? Well, Game of Thrones season 6 is nearly finished! Meaning we’re closer than ever to finding out what happened to *that character* than ever before.
Also, we can learn a fair bit about what the show has in store for us by knowing who is in Northern Ireland right now.
Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner were all photographed together while Liam Cunningham was also seen in attendance. No real surprises there then.
The big news is, of course, that Kit Harrington was spotted back in the area, as was Melisandre actress Carice van Houten, according to Watchers on the Wall.
It is widely believed that the Red Witch may revive Jon Snow in season 6, hinted at by the deathly looking photo of him used by HBO to promote the show.
If they are both in Northern Ireland at the same time, that means it is definitely happening, right?
Recent revelations on Game of Thrones have come from HBO themselves rather than fan gathered sources.

The network released some teaser footage with featured Daenerys, Cersei and Ramsay, while a poster indicated Jon Snow lives on.
Actor Ian McShane also shed some light on to who he will be playing in the upcoming season, hinting he may bring back a well-loved character (probably not Jon Snow).
