Game of Thrones season 6 episode 4 title leaks, but what does it mean?

A reference to one of the Seven gods?

Earlier this week we learned the titles of the second and third episodes of Game of Thrones season 6, and now it seems we know the fourth.

According to the official page for the show on HBO Asia’s website, it’s called ‘Book of the Stranger’.

This can’t be verified on HBO USA, but it’s incredibly unlikely the Asian arm of the network would have put up an erroneous title.

While the episode two and three titles - ‘Home’ and ‘Oathbreaker’ - are fairly easy to interpret, this one’s a little more opaque.

It’s not believed to be a direct reference to the A Song of Ice and Fire books, but may well denote ‘The Stranger’ who is one facet of the Seven new gods of Westeros.

Watchers on the Wall notes that ‘the Faith of the Seven storyline is still in play this season, with Margaery and Loras’ current imprisonment and Cersei’s trial on the horizon.’

A photo of Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow accompanies the episode page, so expect him to be key to the episode.

Second episode ‘Home’, which is thought to refer to a Bran flashback in Winterfell, Sansa plotting to take the castle back and Theon potentially returning to the Iron Islands, hits on Sunday and will hopefully give some answers to last week’s curious Melisandre-Centric ending.
