Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

You know the drill. We're all still reeling from the latest Game of Thrones season 6 instalment but already craving a glimpse of the next.

Episode 10 - 'The Winds of Winter' - follows episode 9 - 'Battle of the Bastards', is the final of the season, and is the longest episode in the show's history.

It's biggest secrets will no doubt have been omitted from the teaser trailer, but here's what we can glean from it:

- Walder Frey is toasting his house's return to Riverrun at a banquet. Jaime Lannister is there however, is he about to be overcome by guilt, get back on his redemption story arc and avenge Catelyn?

- The Faith Militant situation looks to be reaching a head in King's Landing, with Cersei on trial. Expect blood and possibly wildfire.

- Jon and Sansa lament that, despite beating the Boltons, they still have "so many enemies".

- Littlefinger appears to profess his love for Sansa after saving the day at the Battle of the Bastards.

- Melisandre gets admonished by Ser Davos for her past actions (Shireen etc) in front of Jon.

- Bran is back and set for a major final vision (probably the Tower of Joy).

- Dany indulges Daario's flirtations (I'm still team Yara)

The finale airs in its usual Sunday night slot on HBO and Sky Atlantic.
