Season six of Game of Thrones is drawing ever closer, with fan theorists working overtime to work out the future twists and turns before they actually happen.
One theory, which has been around for quite some time, is that Ellie Kendrick’s character Meera Reed is related to the recently 'deceased' Jon Snow, with many believing the curly-haired pair are siblings.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the actress said: “I genuinely don’t have any idea as we don’t get told anything! But, I don’t know. I think people might just be thinking that because we’ve both got curly hair. In the books, our characters are described quite differently.”
"Hey, I'd love it to be true because it would mean great things for my character, but I'm holding back on speculation for now. I think what's been going on in George RR Martin's brain is so much more a complex wormhole than we could possibly imagine.
"I think there's definitely a mystery to Meera and Jojen and their parentage, but I think it'll unwind itself eventually.”
If she is Jon’s long lost sister, and he turns out to be heir to the Iron Throne as people believe (R + L = J) then that could mean Meera could be next in line to rule the seven kingdoms (if he is dead).
"I can only dream,” she added. “To be honest, I don't think Meera would be all that good on the Iron Throne! She's a little bit of a socialist at heart, I don't think she'll be able to rule with the iron fist that the throne requires.”
After not featuring in the show's last season, Kendrick’s character, as well as Bran Stark, Hodor and Jojen are set to return come April.
