From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Variety reports that the showrunner is in talks to develop an adaptation which will be HBO's second try at getting a series based on the DC Comics property off the ground following a failed attempt in 2014.
Watchmen has captured the imagination of comic book aficionados ever since Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' characters debuted in 1975. The series is set in a universe in which the appearance of superheroes - including Nite Owl, Rorschach and Doctor Manhattan - has altered the course of US history
The material was the source of a 2009 film by director Zack Snyder which starred Billy Crudup, Malin Ackerman and Jeffrey Dean Morgan now terrifying audiences as Negan in The Walking Dead.
HBO has declined to comment on the project, but it'd be no surprise to see them keep their mitts on Lost creator Lindelof following the critical love heaped upon The Leftovers' third and final season.
The Leftovers season three will be available to view on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from 4 July.
