Following on from yesterday's 'Black Museum' artwork, today The Independent brings you the first full trailer for the "unrelenting", feature-length Black Mirror episode, one of the most intriguing ones in the season 4 batch set to hit Netflix before the year's out.
The synopsis for the episode is as follows:
"A lone traveller stumbles across a tourist-friendly crime museum with a shocking star attraction."
This star attraction isn't glimpsed, but it seems to be some kind of device that, according to museum curator Rolo Haynes, allows you to "inflict pain on yourself but not terror" (yay!).
A few of the criminological artifacts in the museum might be familiar - a mugshot of Lenora Crichlow's season 2 'White Bear' character Victoria Skillane clearly seen exhibited.
The cast for 'Black Museum' includes Letitia Wright, Douglas Hodge, Babs Olusanmokun, the episode being written by Charlie Brooker and directed by Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders).
Black Mirror executive producer Annabel Jones recently teased the episode to The Independent, saying: "‘Black Museum’ is absolute popcorn. It’s three stories in one – a portmanteau-type thing – but absolutely full of ideas that whip along and before you know it you’re at the end of a 90-minute film and you’re like, ‘Oh my God, can you please stop? This is horrendous – stop throwing me these things!' It’s just unrelenting."
This trailer drop is part of a '13 Days of Black Mirror' promo Netflix is running, which has already seen artwork and trailers released for two other episodes: the Jodie Foster-directed 'Arkangel' and 'Crocodile.' It is building toward a surprise on the final day.
Look out for our interview with show creator Charlie Brooker on Monday.
Black Mirror season 4 is out later this year (date TBC).
